The Arctic Ice-Ocean Prediction System assimilates near-real-time sea ice concentration, sea ice thickness, and sea surface temperature in ice-free regions. Sea ice thickness observations are from CS2SMOS data, sea surface temperature observations are from GMPE SST data. Before March 2021, sea ice concentration observations are from AMSR2 data. From March 2021 on, sea ice concentration observations are from HY2B data. The system is driven by GFS atmospheric forecasting products. Detailed description of ArcIOPS can be found in (Mu et al., 2019; Liang et al., 2020).
